Hi, its great to see a new forum to aid all in the Czech Republic, and outside of it, of course.
Is it possible to change the date settings, the way I view your forums. At the moment is a bit confusing???:ahum:
Month, then day, then year???
Why not day, month and year!

Cheers Neil.:)

If more persons like to have the date format d-m-y i'll change it. II though most persons would like this way more?

So, are there more members who would like to have the date format in the European way?

I personally don't care which way the date shows. I'm used to both...

Well, I am used to the dd.mm.yy format, but think this possibility is lucid enough and there is no need to change. Maybe the option to change it in settings according to one´s wishes would be handy.

You can... You as a admin would need to know that :lol

Its more logical day, month and year!

What is the reason behind the other version( Month day and year)??
Does anyone know?

Cheers.

It's terrible!!:shocked
You seem to be the only Czech forum to have it this way!:crazy

Cheers.

I think the reason why we originally put it this way is that it was designed for English-speaking people. That's why it was put in the mm.dd.yy.

Yep, that's the reason.

Do you mean American English speaking people!
Not English/ European English speaking people!

As you said it is an American idea!:doh

Please do not think I am anti American, its just that this is a most illogical way of setting out a date format!:crazy
Don't we have to adapt to enough American ways as it is?:shocked
Unless of course you are an American site!
Cheers.
Neil:)

We talked about your suggestion jonesnewton. We think that it's the best to lett the date-stamp this way. Because we want to be an international forum from visitors around the world. So for that reason we think it's better to use the way of showing the date format. We realise that for some European users it’s a bit difficult, but we think this is the best.

I understand you want to be international, but across Europe it is not the way!
All around the world? They do not use this format, only America and people who follow American ways!
OK, why not allow users to change there local settings?
I believe you said this can be done?

All the best.
Neil

I agree with jonesnewton. This is Czech forum, than it need´s to be written in Czech way.

Tomaszewski

Well, it it was written in Czech way, there would have to be dots instead of slashes or hyphens, that's not suitable at all... I agree making local settings of the date format possible is great but we have to be patient before it is possible. A lot of work to do to change that, I believe...

Hi T,
I think Andrea is saying the format of the date, i.e. what I have been asking? DD/MM/YY, not MM/DD/YY!
Though I might be wrong!!

Tomaszewski
29-11-2005, 03:34 PM
Yes, I know, it was just an additional remark with the dots. Just a reaction on the "Czech way"... I know Andrea agrees with you.
