Hello,
I want this section of the forum to be a place where romanians and other nationalities that are curently working or will be working in Brno can meet and talk about various aspects of living in Brno.

I am curently looking for a flat and a flat mate so i can share expenses with him, preferably romanian.

Anybody knows how long do I have to wait to get the work permission from Czech Republic - Manpower. I send the notarized documents to Manpower on 28 August and can I get the visas from Romania or not.

Hello all,

I edited the title since it was too restricted (not only IBM employees can post here).

I received several messages from forum readers and I try to answer all of them but my actual job requires extensive traveling and it is not always possible.
Please feel free to post a few words in English, so you have much better chances to find several people in your situation, possible same nationality

Looking forward to hearing from you

Piece of advice: Read carefully this forum threads because they explain a lot of things I was asked.

Hello, yesterday I was contacted by IBM manager via phone, for an interview. In the end of the conversation, he told me that I'll be contacted by someone from Manpower, but.... nothing yet :suspicious: Should I wait for more days? What did that means? It's ok? He accept me for the job? Thanks.

Bravis s.r.o.
Te pup si iti doresc toate cele bune.

Buna Mihai,

Multumesc, Cristina

About language...finding people speaking anything else than czech is quite difficult in here...and their language has so many consonants that I decided to learn just the basics....

to romanians on this thread: be so kind to keep the content on the forum in _english_, please note that most people who help you on this forum are CZECH (which is why they can help so much, many times), and they haven't posted a _word_ in czech. you can always use private messaging for talking in your native language, exchanging email addresses, and such ;)

We will of course need to rent a flat ...but this issue will be discussed later on ...
Could you tell me if there are some nice bars where you get toghether in Brno?...do you get toghether at all ....are romanians still afraid of each-other??? what a f**ck????
ok ...now some infos I need ....could anyone tell me what are the income taxes in Czech Republik ? how do they apply ? ...monthly ...or yearly? do you pay them yourself or they get kept out of yuor paycheck??
Is a 24000 - 27000 (before taxes) a good salary in Czech Republik?
To many qouestions?
And then?
.....and then...?
.......and then?..... ( Dude ...where's my car?)
Thank you for your answers if there will be any ...and hope to find a great romanian comunity in Brno ....

hi,
i dont see how that would be mean, they go for more money, when they go, not because they are not wanted here ;), actually, i can tell you from experience that they will usually have priority, so i think nobody here will feal offended.

dont know about bars, sorry, or about romanian "brotherhood" here. who cares anyway :)

the paycheck you mention should be quite decent (depends on your position and so on), however ask info from the hr you have been talking to. it is not your problem how income is taxed in CR (at least this was my view), tell them you want to know the amount after taxes, they will oblige. you pay those taxes out of your salarry, but i think the normal porcedure is that the employer does this for you automatically (you will only get the net amount "in your hand" ). i can assume from my own experience that you will probably left with enough money to not need to worry to much, and also it is a bit better than the average in CR (though not the average in IT ;), and i wont even speak of the average in RO.. if it is for two persons to live on, it can be a bit tight, otoh, if both of you have a salary like that, you should be very ok, unless you are used to living the "good" life :).

i must add, for your beneffit, allthough i said it before: note that, most likely, you will get your first paycheck about one month after you get here , so dont count on it at first (do ask your HR about it), most banks will not grant you credit when you just arrived(if not all), so you should probably have at least 1200euro to "invest" when you get here (depends , ofcourse, on several things). relocation reinbursmnet will also be after at least one month, so forget about that also, for the first month. you have been warned ;)

dont know about your car (or the stuff you've been smoking :), but i know mine is still at some dealer, hope i'll get it soon ;) wish me luck

all the best
