doesn't any read this stuff ? come on there has to be some way of searching czech on the net. is it all in the church records or what ?

Well, i presume you are talking about this thread (http://czechforum.net/showthread.php?t=5475). The problem is that genealogy isn't that popular in the CR as it is in the US (since ancestors of czechs lived in that area for ages while the US was heavilly immigrated in 18th/19th century). Therefore there aren't really any internet sources for searching. All documents exists only in written form in the area of they relative belonging. One of my relatives once tried to make a genealogic tree of our family (in the early 90's) it involved lot of traveling across cities and searching in registries.

Keech Thanks for your reply, I was beginning to wonder if anybody used this forum . what you said about the records makes sense, its pretty much what they tell you at the genealogy sites. it just sucks . I've even gone as far as to randomly Email people in CR with my last name to see if anybody has already done their family trees. no replies yet, go figure. but thanks again for your reply at least I know someone is reading this stuff.
